Hello River Otters!

Looking forward to seeing many of you this Friday at Knight's Ferry for our River Rafting Trip. Here are some important reminders from Sunshine River Rafting (but the most important is for EVERYONE to keep their life jackets on at all times!): 

1) Flows are expected to be in the "high" category, which means alcohol is banned and life vests must be worn at all times. Children 5 and up are welcome, and each boat should have at least 2 adults (we don't want one parent with a large group of littles). 

2) Make sure you know how to get to the river check-in location: 
Using Google maps (or any other non-Apple map service)? Go to address 18210 Sonora Road, Knights Ferry, CA. 

Using Apple maps? Check-in is across the river from 18000 Covered Bridge Road, Knights Ferry, CA. As you get close, keep your eyes open for the "Rafters' Parking Lot" and our blue tent, where you will check in. Why different addresses? Apple maps will not display the 18210 address correctly! 

3) Make sure everyone in the group has the pre-trip list of things to bring, found here. Do note that parking costs $10/car in the Knights Ferry lots (this is a park charge, not ours)- so please bring a credit card to pay the $10 parking fee at the kiosk.

4) Check the weather for Knights Ferry here. Dress appropriate for the weather, and bring sunscreen!

5) Understand what expectations of you and your group Read the code of conduct here.

6) Fill out your liability waivers (found here). Print them out and sign them. If anyone is under 18 have their legal guardian sign them. They are available at the river as well.

7) A reminder of what to expect:
-Total time on the water ranges from 4-5 hours for most rafting groups (2.5-3.5 for kayakers), but really your pace is up to you depending on the breaks you take, when you decide to paddle, etc.
-After our crew helps you get your equipment out of the water, we will let you unwind for a few minutes and then shuttle you back to your cars.
